Parenting today - From the perspective of a millennium kid.

"Never stop learning"- you would not have missed this quote at any educational forum, be it a concrete school or a play store app. Looks like today's parents have taken it too seriously. It is undeniable that we should make use of every opportunity provided to ensure ourselves leading the pack. As said by Mr.Virumandi Sandhanam aka Virus in the movie Nanban, "Life is a race." It is unarguably true. On the other hand, the so-called kids from the 90s are always seen to have their reminiscence party on all the social media known to mankind, claiming to have lived in the best of times. Do you think it will be the same for their successors?. Well, the answer is maybe or may not.

Although today's parents are much better at handling their kids (at least their gadgets), they seem to have lost an emotional connection with their offsprings. A recent debate show on a popular channel disclosed the fact that the perspective of parenting has changed drastically that they have started to believe that provision of all the modern facilities and pushing them into activities like coding is the right way to make their children use their time wisely. Today's online educators have a major part in this perspective change. Claims from such people are very pleasing to the ear that people spend their money on additional co-curricular without any hesitation hoping that their kid is being transformed into a child prodigy. (Probably we need another blog on the money loot of online education).

Rewinding to the 90s, parenting had nothing to do with the daily chores of their kids, except for their board preparation which is not the case today. The prime example of kids being treated like an android alarm is the number of coaching classes they join after paying a big chunk of money to the school in the name of co-curricular activities. (Still looking for the meaning of miscellaneous fee). Speaking of the 90s, the parents were never hesitant to correct their kid's misbehavior even if it required mild violence, and once again it is not today's case. Another worrying fact is that parents are ready to sacrifice gigabytes of data rather than their valuable time, keeping themselves repulsive to their own kids.

On the whole, if parenting doesn't revert itself to what it was, 2K kids may, unfortunately, land up with nothing to cherish but the physical ailments and digital medication.
